Event Description
The Slurry Wall Committee of the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) is organizing a one-day seminar that will focus on the design, construction and maintenance of Structural Slurry Wall as a permanent structure. The goal is to present recent and future projects which include challenging Slurry Walls from owner perspectives and to have contractors and engineers present new or recent techniques, design and case histories. These presentations should highlight the technical and economical advantages as well as long term maintenance.
Presentation Proposal Submission
Presentation proposals are solicited on the following topics relating to Structural Slurry Wall:

��History/Theoretical Background
��Quality Control and Inspection
��Seismic Considerations
��Long term Maintenance
��Innovative Applications and Techniques
��Practice-Oriented Research
��Equipment Advances
��Top Down Construction
Parties interested in being included in the Use of Structural Slurry Wall for Permanent Structures program should submit to DFI a brief summary (no more than 1 page) describing the subject matter of their proposed presentation. The due date for submissions is Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Please send proposals to DFI headquarters via email to kcriqui@dfi.org.
Notification of acceptance and guidelines for presentation development will be returned to all submitters no later than Thursday, April 21, 2011.
All authors of accepted proposals will be required to commit to presenting their topic at the seminar on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 (or August 17) and will be required to submit a paper or PowerPoint presentation handout to be included in the seminar publication by Friday, June 10, 2011.
